Oakville’s Community Podcast: Members of the Chamber
Oakville Chamber Members, One Story at a Time.
Have you been listening to Oakville’s community podcast, Members of the Chamber? It’s a podcast we produce that features prominent members of our local business community.
On each episode, Oakville Chamber President & CEO Drew Redden sits down for a casual and relaxed conversation, where guests discuss their entrepreneurial or professional journey and how they ended up where they are today.
Members of the Chamber launched its first season in February 2020, and released the final episode of season two last week. Season two’s final episode features an interview with a co-op student from Oakville Trafalgar High School who has been working with the Chamber Team and recaps the best advice given by their guests throughout the season.
On season two of Members of the Chamber, the podcast featured:
- Nancy Fornasiero, Founder and Community Director at ACE Coworking
- Don Pangman, Founder of ArtHouse
- Wendy Rinella, Chief Executive Officer of the Oakville Community Foundation
- Andrew Esemezie, Franchise Owner of Second Cup Coffee Company in Downtown Oakville
- Wendy Donnan, Co-Founder of the Oakville Festivals of Film & Art (OFFA)
- Dave Oswald, Investigations Specialist at Forensic Restitution
- Jennifer Kazmaier, Founder of Calacare and retired by age 35
- Aby Alameddine, Co-Founder of Core Online Marketing
- Maria Robertson, Founder of The New Mummy Company
“I don’t normally enjoy giving interviews, but Drew and his team at the Oakville Chamber made the process so comfortable and easy-going that I found myself enjoying the chat a lot!” said Nancy Fornasiero. “The questions were authentic and personal — not rote and dull, which can sometimes be the case with interviewers. Being a guest on the Members of the Chamber Podcast was super experience!”
On the latest season of Members of the Chamber, guests share the effects COVID-19 had on their organizations, how they started their careers, funny stories, and always wrap each episode by sharing the best advice they received throughout their career. Don Pangman recalls how he left his career on Bay Street to start a charitable arts organization; Jennifer Kazmaier shares an important lesson learned from her first hire; and Maria Robertson reveals how she got connected to some VIP clients (hint: Game of Thrones is discussed).
